The Summer School is free to STFC-sponsored and self-supporting postgraduate students on a first-come, first-served basis. This includes tuition, accommodation, meals and other minor expenses. STFC-sponsored and self-supporting students can claim travel costs from STFC (see below).
Self-supporting students should contact the Summer School Director, Francis Keenan, at firstname.lastname@example.org with details of their circumstances before registration.
Postgraduate students sponsored by bodies other than STFC, but who meet STFC’s residence requirements for eligibility for an STFC studentship, may attend tuition-free. The STFC residence requirements may be found on page 13 of the document available here. However, they or their sponsor will need to meet local expenses (accommodation and meals) as detailed in the Registration link. Similarly, postgraduate students who are employees of UK academic institutes (including postdoctoral researchers on fixed-term contracts) may attend tuition-free, but their employing institution will need to cover their local expenses.
Other postgraduate students and attendees will be required to pay full fees.
STFC-sponsored postgraduate students and self-supporting students can claim their reasonable travel expenses directly from STFC using the form available here. Completed forms should be returned, along with relevant original receipts, to:
