All lectures will be held in the Bell Lecture Theatre in the Main Building of the School of Mathematics and Physics (marked L on the campus map which is available here). There will be a laptop and projection facilities in the Lecture Theatre, as well as whiteboards. A local “helper” will always be on duty to deal with technical matters, provide directions etc.
All lecture slots are 60 minutes, although lectures should be at most 50 minutes in duration, to allow time for questions. Some small amount of co-ordination among lecturers might remove some duplication and ensure all appropriate material is covered.
We would like to make the lectures available for download by the students, for future reference, although this is of course at the discretion of the lecturer. If you are happy for a copy of your lecture to be distributed to the students, please drop off your file using the Queen’s University dropbox here, with recipient r.ryans@qub.ac.uk. Note the filesize limit is 1GB. Alternatively, you can use your own dropbox service, with the same recipient at Queen’s University, or just use email if the total message size is under 10MB.

Belfast can also be reached from Dublin.
However, rather than book flights yourself, it is simpler for us to do this, and we can also pay for the flights directly. Once you have your travel schedule finalised, please contact Emma Finnegan at e.finnegan@qub.ac.uk and she will make all the necessary arrangements, including payment.
August is a busy month in Belfast, and we advise that accommodation is booked early if you want to stay within walking distance of Queen’s University. Once your travel schedule is finalised, please contact Emma Finnegan at e.finnegan@qub.ac.uk and she will make all the necessary arrangements, including payment.
Although we can pay for flights and accommodation directly, lecturers will likely have some other expenses, such as taxi fares, car parking charges and meals.
Expenses claims should be submitted to Emma Finnegan at e.finnegan@qub.ac.uk. Please complete the excel spreadsheet which is available here, and email this to Emma. In addition, send original receipts to her at:

To arrange the payment of your lecture fee, you will need to see one of our Accounts Clerks, Mrs Jenny McCabe (j.mccabe@qub.ac.uk), and provide her with some information, including passport details. Please ask a staff member or student from the School of Mathematics and Physics to take you to meet with Jenny during office hours.
