I am a professor at Queen's University Belfast, with my main research interests concerning the underlying physics of cool stars and the Sun. I utilize high-resolution data sets of the lower solar atmosphere, obtained in optical wavelengths using world-leading solar facilities such as the Dunn Solar Telescope and the Swedish Solar Telescope. I am predominantly interested in how the Sun's energy travels through its atmosphere, both in the form of flares and waves. In order to push the boundaries of spatial and temporal resolutions, I have designed and successfully commissioned my own pet project: the Rapid Oscillations in the Solar Atmosphere (ROSA) multi-camera system.
